Metal Matters

Polished stainless steel and other metals are integral to our every day lives. They may be visible and chosen for aesthetic appeal or they may be essential to produce food and drink, pharmaceutical products or be part of our infrastructure. Whatever your project we can work with you and your client to ensure you have the right finish in the right application and the right environment.

Here are some examples of sectors where our finishes are featured.

Architectural
From a light switch to a full building façade, polishing stainless steel and other non ferrous metals make a statement and are hugely sustainable. From Hong Kong to Milton Keynes, Birmingham to Dallas, our finishes grace some of the world’s most celebrated architectural builds.
Pharmaceutical
Polishing stainless steel sheets and plates for pharmaceutical tanks and environments ensures a hygienic and safe space to manufacture drugs and painkillers. Selecting the correct finish helps combat cross contamination and we are happy to advise on the best finishes to use.
Food and Beverage
The manufacturer of food and beverages requires excellent hygienic surfaces and polishing the correct grade of stainless steel to the correct finish is essential. Why not download our case study on polished stainless steel in the wine industry.
Manufacturing
All the material we process goes on to be manufactured or fabricated. If you are unsure which metal is best for your project please do speak to us and we will be more than happy to discuss this with you.
Rail
From iconic stations clad in polished stainless steel facades to internal kick plates, infrastructure and train doors, polished stainless steel and aluminium is integral to both design and safety.
Automotive
From trims to badges, speakers to grilles, polished stainless steel and aluminium are essential components for the automotive sector.
Nuclear
With over thirty years experience of polishing stainless steel for the Nuclear sector, both in the UK and further afield, we produce finishes that not only adhere to BNFL specifications but also ensure all handling and coating of the material is monitored, measured and certified. As well as measuring the Roughness Average of the finishes produced we can also measure the thickness of the material using ultra sonic equipment ensuring that stock removal is also rigidly adhered to.
Medical
From CT scanners, to ventilator stands, to mortuary tables, we have decades of experience in ensuring that all polished finishes are measured and certified and suitable for the end-use.
Elevators
Polished stainless steel is often chosen for this application both on the lobby doors and internally. Sustainable and easy to clean talk to use about which finish best suits your project.
Vessels and tanks
Stainless steel is a popular material choice for pressure vessels due to its excellent mechanical and corrosion-resistant properties. Pressure vessels are designed to store and transport pressurized gases or liquids, and they are often used in industries such as oil and gas, chemical processing, and pharmaceuticals
Signage
Mirror polished stainless steel is a popular finish for signage. When combined with lights and coloured accents it can really showcase the design.
Defence
Both polished aluminium and stainless steel are used extensively in the Defense Industry. Aluminium in the manufacture of submarines is mainly focused on non-structural components and certain pressure hulls. However, stainless steel remains the primary material used for pressure hulls due to its ability to withstand pressure at great depths.
Art & Sculpture
From the Tree of Remembrance in Piccadilly, Manchester, the Spire in Dublin and street art in Rome, polished stainless steel makes a stunning sustainable statement.
Street Furniture
From bollards to bins, benches to signs, polished stainless steel lasts for decades and is hygienic and easy to clean and maintain.
Catering equipment
Refrigeration units, fish and chip counters, professional catering equipment, kebab vans and Michelin star restaurants all have polished stainless steel in common. With forty years experience in this sector we are ideally placed to add value to you project whilst ensuring the strictest standards are met.
